Today we had a nice big breakfast at the hotel and then worked on figuring out what to do with all my (still) wet clothes. I didn't think they would smell too nice if they sat in a bag for 20 hours! We finally convinced the hotel to run them through the dryer, and they didn't even charge us for it which was nice. (They wouldn't do the shoes, though, and they might just need to go in the garbage now!)
After getting all packed and checking out, Scott & I got to go do some sight-seeing together. We went to Longshan Temple (the oldest temple in Taipei), Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial. I'd been to Chiang Kai-shek on my tour but we walked around the grounds more and they are absolutely beautiful. Sun Yat-sen is in the middle of the downtown area and is a nice, big park blocked off with trees from the rest of the city. Lots of people go there to relax or exercise during the day. We had a fun time and really enjoyed getting to go together.
Then it was off to the airport for the long trip back home. Jetlag really seemed to hit harder coming back and we're still not back on a normal schedule. It was a fun trip (at least for me) but we are glad to be back home in the USA and with our family.
